In non-lubricated air compressors, a great amount of heat is generated which is lost due to cooling in after cooler. In heat of compression type dryer, this heat is utilized to heat the air for regeneration. In this dryer hot compressed air is passed through a heater to maintain the temperature around 180 Deg C, which is then passed through the desiccant bed for regeneration. After taking out the moisture this air is cooled in an aftercooler where moisture is condensed and drained out in moisture separator. Then this cooled air is passed through the other tower of desiccant for drying.

The concept of efficient cooling is the removal of heat only. The air first enters into the pre-cooler where the incoming hot air is being cooled by outgoing cold air so as to reduce the heat load of the evaporator.The air from pre-cooler enters into the evaporator where further heat is removed by boiling refrigerant like Freon.

Now the air gets condensed and this moist air is passed through a moisture separator where moisture is drained out by the centrifugal action of air. The moist free air enters into pre-cooler to cool the incoming air.

To save on purge loss, here part of the wet air is circulated through a heater thereby increasing its moisture carrying capacity, which is used for regeneration. In this type of dryer incoming wet air is divided between a distributor. 60-70% of wet air goes for drying while 30-40% of wet air is circulated through a heater thereby increasing its temperature which then takes out the moisture from the desiccant bed and then it is cooled in an aftercooler where moisture is condensed and drained out in moisture separator. This air is sent back to the distributor where it mixed with incoming air and distributed again.

High-Pressure Heat Less Air Dryer is polluted with dirt particles, water, oil, and condensate. These contaminants result in high maintenance costs, premature wear, spoilt products and the failure of control systems.

An Enginox HPADU” dryer will efficiently remove these contaminants. The traditional adsorption principle used in this design is simple, robust and flexible using compressed air for regeneration thereby eliminating any need for an outside energy supply. High levels of reliability are achieved by the use of proven engineering technology and components.

How HPADU Dryers Work:
  • The compressed air is passed through a high-efficiency inlet filter which removes solid and liquid particles down to a size of 0.01 micron/0.01ppm. A manual or automatic drain valve removes the bulk liquid. After being filtered, the compressed air which is still 100% saturated, passes into the inlet control valve where it is distributed into one of the vessels which is filled with a moisture adsorbent desiccant material. Diffusers ensure even distribution of the inlet air through the desiccant bed. During the drying phase, the moisture in the compressed air is adsorbed by the desiccant material. Dry, the clean air then passes into the upper control valve and out through a high-efficiency particulate filter into the pipe distribution system. As vessel A is drying the compressed air, vessel B is being regenerated.
  • This is achieved by passing a small amount of dry compressed air through a fixed orifice where it expands to atmospheric pressure, flowing through vessel B from top to bottom.
  • The expansion from line pressure to atmospheric pressure allows the dried air to remove the moisture in the bed of vessel B thereby drying (regenerating) the desiccant bed. This purge air then passes out through an exhaust valve and silencer.

Features:
  • Dew point options of -40 DegC and -70 DegC PDP. A mixed adsorption bed allows inlet temperatures up to 50 DegC with high adsorption and desorption efficiency.
  • The operation can be matched to the load/unload state of the compressor. High capacity drying beds offer good moisture separation and long reserve times.
  • Diffusers ensure low-pressure drop and an even flow distribution through the desiccant beds.
  • Pressure vessel codes to AD-MERKBLATTER/TUV and other approvals on request.
  • Vessel designs have good aspect ratios resulting in optimum bed velocities and contact times.
  • Electronic controls are fitted as standard. Pneumatic control options are available for hazardous areas or where electrical supplies are not available.
  • All drying systems are supplied complete with high-efficiency oil removal and dust filtration. Inlet and outlet valve blocks are generously sized, robustly constructed, offering minimum pressure drop. Control valves are designed as a block system to minimize pipe connections and the risk of expensive air leaks. Outlet control block combines check valves and regulators.

E TECH – S MODEL PSA NITROGEN PLANT

Our E TECH – S Model Nitrogen Plant/Generator operating on PSA technology consists of twin tower system filled with a special grade of imported carbon molecular sieves (C.M.S.) at a time, one tower keeps in the production cycle and other in the regeneration cycle. When compressed air passed through C.M.S. bed, the molecules of oxygen, moisture other unwanted gases are adsorbed on the surface of C.M.S. And the nitrogen which is not adsorbed by C.M.S comes out of adsorption tower and is collected in a surge vessel. Two adsorption towers are provided which are interconnected with auto change over valves controlled by a sequence programmer (PLC). When one tower saturates with oxygen the process automatically changes over to another tower. This ensures the continuous production of the Nitrogen gas.

This is an improvised version of Internally Heated Air Dryer where purge air loss is very very low due to regeneration is achieved by dry air at low pressure and at high temperature. To achieve this heater are provided to heat the purge air to around 180 Deg C, which enhances its moisture carrying capacities. This hot purge air at low pressure is passed through the desiccant bed to regenerate with a small quantity of purge.
